Q no 1:What is Style?
Ans: Style is the way of writing .It is the way of  individualizing the words or use of words for the means of communication (communication of thoughts, feelings). A writer or a speaker uses words and make sentences arranging the words in hi/her own way which is different in every person. The choice of words, use of literary devices, diction transportation, sublimity etc is different in different writers ( everyone uses language in his/her own way).So style is the way of using language in his own creative manner. Therefore through thorough study and analysis, we can find the writer of a text (if he is a ell known writer) through his style. Shakespeare , Milton, Pope had their own style which separate them from other writers. Even these great writer's styles have been named like Shakespearean style Miltonic style.

Q no 02: What is Stylistics?
Ans: Stylistics is the branch of applied linguistics in which style of a text is studied. Stylistics not only studies the linguistic features of a writing but it also study the functional causes. It interpret the literary and non literary texts to explore its linguistic cause and literary facts in order to have a deep understanding of a piece of text .Not only it analyse the linguistic features of a text but it also finds outs and explore the literary devices ,the rhetoric meanings and  the hidden meaning and message from a text.
We can simply say that Stylistics is the study of style of a text both literary and  non literary to find its stylistic features ad its significance to get a detailed understanding.

Q no 03: Why stylistics is considered a bridge between Literature and Linguistics?
Ans: Literature and Linguistics are two different branches of studies which are sometimes considered sharply bordered and exclusive to their own rules and studies, but Stylistics is considered to be the bridge between Linguistics and Literature , as Stylistics is the interpretation of both Literary and non literary text.It is the bridge where these two branches sometimes overlap with each other .The primary step of a literary analysis is the procedure of linguistic study of the text , so to interpret a literary text one must study the linguistic structure of that text and to interpret a linguistic text one must be familiar with the literary devices and artistic and creative use of language .Hence a Statistician can never escape from either branches and both Literary and Linguistic interpretation work together for a Statistician .

Q no 04: Why Stylistics is sometimes called Literary Linguistics?
Ans: Stylistics is sometimes called literary linguistics because it works as a bride between Literature and Linguistics.Basically Stylistics is the study of style of a text (mostly literary) ,so style include the study of linguistic feature of a text like the choice of words, arrangements of words, morphology, graphology, syntax and lexical properties are studied to interpret a text. So, it is the linguistic study of a literary text .After the linguistic study the literary place and position is assigned and  the hidden meaning and message are decoded from a text . Hence what Stylistics is about the literary and linguistic analysis of text therefore it is sometimes called Literary Linguistics.
